Costa Rica is a fantastic place for bird watching. Not only has the country around 850 species of birds, but different areas and microclimates are fairly close to each other, and so it is possible to get from Cloud Forest to Tropical Dry Forest in less than 2 hours, or from Tropical Rainforest to Cloud Forest in also less than two hours.
Costa Rica has many different climatic areas including coastal rainforest, tropical humid rainforest, tropical dry forest and savannah – looking fields, cloud forest and paramo and many transition climates.
Species like the Quetzal, the Snow-Cap and Dwarf Mot-Mot are abundant in areas throughout Costa Rica. |
